North Carolina gun charges filed after alleged beating

Two people in North Carolina are facing charges relating to a street fight in which guns were involved. According to police reports, a man and woman were both arrested late last month and are now facing gun charges. The 37-year-old woman has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. The 21-year-old man is charged with going armed in terror of the public.

Just after 1 a.m. on June 25 in the Piney Green area, law enforcement responded to a call stating that a street fight had broken out on Daly Street and several gunshots had been fired. Once deputies arrived, a 33-year-old man alleged that he had been “pistol-whipped,” leaving him with blood on his face and upper torso. There was a pickup truck on the same street with several people inside and a deputy noted two handguns in the bed of the truck.
